Baa Baa Black Sheep...

Here is a review of the famous classic song,

Baa Baa Black Sheep

The lyrics are as follows:

Baa, baa, black sheep, have you any wool?
Yes sir, yes sir, three bags full.
One for my master, one for the dame,
and one for the little boy who lives down the lane.

With just four lines of lyrics, this song has touched on racial, copyright infringement, as well as customer relation management issues. I shall go on to elaborate on the specific implication of the lyrics by reading between the lines.

First, by calling Baa Baa the sheep a Black, severe racial discrimination is implicted on him. Baa Baa may be black in terms of his wool, but the proper term for such a colour would be ebony, and not black . Baa Baa felt violated in his rights to survive as a wool contibutor, and this has led to his rebuttal to the person asking that question so impolitely.

Baa Baa knew that this person wants to either legally purchase or illegally obtain wool from him through his verbal contract,"Have you any wool?". Yet Baa Baa replies wilfully that he has lots of wool, three bags full to be precise, but he was not going to present the person in question any wool at all, because he was going to give them to other people, free of charge. In relation to the question "Have you any wool?", Baa Baa could have replied, " No sir, No sir, you racist fool," but Baa Baa chose sarcasm as a less provocative answer. This showcased Baa Baa's customer relations prowess, as he is able to put aside personal attacks to protect the reputation of Baa Baa's Wool Company.

We shall also analyse the three person involved in Baa Baa's sale of wool, namely, the farmer, the farmer's spouse, and the male minor in residence of the house down Baa Baa's street. These three people have either good relations with Baa Baa personally, or have the presence of mind to order their wool in advance, unlike the buffoon in question. Baa Baa has reserved all his wool for these people without payment in advance, which further illuminates Baa Baa's sales tactics and customer relations.

The last issue i shall address here is copyright infringement. As we know, Baa Baa Black Sheep is not only a politically-incorrect term, the tune is also borrowed from other songs like ABC and Twinkle Twinkle Little Stars. However, Baa Baa has not violated any copyright laws, due to:

The Act of Deceased Composers: Thou is not obliged to pay or acknowledge the composers of any musical or theatrical products who has been dead for more than 50 years.

Therefore, though Baa Baa commited a foul play of plagiarisim, there is nothing technically wrong with Baa Baa's advertising jingle. We just have to be contented with bad-mouthing him behind his back and refrain from buying his album.

I have come to the end of my song review. I hope to achieve nothing whatsoever with this detailed description of Baa Baa, least of all create hostility between him and his public. The above is for reference only, and I present a different way of writing a report. Thank you for your time.
